Dian’s claim to fame is as an ex model (former winner of the 1965 Miss World USA Pageant) who was a prize presenter on the popular game show The Price is Right from 1975-93. She caused a bit of stir when she accused host Bob Barker of sexual harassment and filed suit against him in 1994, a year after she left the game show. Parkinson said that for the last three years of her stint on the show, she was forced to engage in a relationship with Barker (which resulted in a pregnancy that ended in a miscarriage) who threatened to fire her if she refused. Barker denied the accusation and said that the relationship was consensual (even claiming that it was Parkinson herself who actively pursued and seduced him) and eventually the suit was dropped in 1995 with Parkinson claiming it was taking a toll on her health and pocketbook.
Anyway, enough of the bad stuff, eh, what concerns us is the nice 1987 poster of Dian released by Starmakers. A bit of rarer poster to find, but one well worth adding to your collection. Oh, and you can see “more” of Dian, if you so desire, by getting copies of the December 1991 and May 1993 issues of Playboy magazine.
Gregory Harrison gained 1980’s teen idol status from his work as Dr. George Alonzo “Gonzo” Gates in the popular CBS television series Trapper John M.D. (79-86). He left the series mid way through the last season to pursue other acting ventures. A popular television movie from 1981 For Ladies Only saw Harrison cast as a male stripper (with a poster released of him in character also available).
Harrison married actress Randi Oakes (of CHiPS. fame) in 1980 and the couple have four children. Harrison currently has a reoccurring role as Thomas O’Brien on the Canadian American drama series Chesapeake Shores airing on the Hallmark Channel.
Keep up to date with what Gregory has been doing at hiswebsite.
A cool poster of Peter Weller as Buckaroo Banzai. Released by C/C Sales in 1984 it measures about 23″ x 35″.
In 1983, Western Graphics released this pose of Mr. T as his character Bosco “B.A.” (Bad Attitude) Baracus from the popular action adventure series, The A-Team, that aired on NBC from 1983 to 1987.
Danish-Italian actress, model, singer and ex-wife of Sylvester Stallone, released this nice poster in 1988 and it measures 22 x 32 and is published by Starmakers.
Cathy Lee gained some recognition for being the first actress to portray Wonder Woman on the small screen. A year or so, before Lynda Carter made the character her own, Cathy Lee stared in a rather forgettable television movie that disappointed fans and critics offering up a Wonder Woman that wasn’t all that wondrous having lost much of her superhero capabilities.
This nice pose of Cathy Lee is from C/C sales and is from 1984. There is at least one other poster of Cathy Lee out there, a nice red bikini pose, and when I get a good scan, I will make sure to post that, too. 🙂
A nice colorful pose of actress and model Randi Oakes was released by C/C sales in 1980. At least one other poster of Oakes is floating around out there somewhere, and when I can find a good scan, I will post it! 🙂
Oakes, an actress and fashion model made a name for herself working as Officer Bonnie Clark on the NBC television series CHiPS from 1979 to 1982.
While working on the 1979 edition of Battle of the Network Stars, she met actor Gregory Harrison (who was playing for the CBS team). The couple married on December 21, 1980 and chose to keep their marriage a secret for several years. She left CHiPs in 1982 with some sources stating the reason as being she wanted to devote more time to her marriage. In 1985, she retired from acting to become a full time mom to the couple’s first child. She and Harrison have been married for 36 years and have four children.
